Blyth Running Club is fully aligned to UK Athletics (UKA) / England Athletic (EA) welfare standards and procedures, which can be found here Club Safeguarding and Welfare.
These cover a range of issues such as anti-bullying, poor practice in coaching, safeguarding and protecting children and disciplinary matter.

Everyone involved with Blyth Running Club has a role in promoting the welfare and safety of our members. Our Welfare Officers oversee and coordinate this activity and are our primary point of contact to deal with any issues or concerns.

OUR WELFARE POLICIES
The Club rules and Constitution sets out expectations for Athletes, Coaches, Parents/Carers and Volunteers, to help ensure a positive environment for everyone involved with Blyth Running Club.
Our Child Protection Policy sits alongside this with additional measures to assure safeguarding of members under 18 years.
REPORTING A CONCERN
You can report a welfare or safeguarding concern directly to a Coach, Welfare Officer, Club Official or via an online form (which goes to Welfare Officers). Alternately, you can raise a safeguarding concern directly to UK Athletics.

In an emergency and/or if you are concerned that someone is at immediate risk of harm, please call the police without delay on 999.
DBS AND WELFARE TRAINING
EA oversees DBS registrations and renewals across athletics. All coaches and club officials must have DBS clearance in place at the appropriate level. Additionally, all Coaches are required to complete relevant EA Welfare Training modules.
WIDER SUPPORT FOR YOUR WELLBEING
If you are experiencing mental health and/or wellbeing problems or know of someone who is struggling, there are a variety of places to go for support.
