Summer Cup 2025 Race 4 Results
Good afternoon all,
The STIG has been busy processing the data from last night’s Race 4 results and has updated all the current standings, please see attached….
For those not as excited as the STIG by excel (or as excited as me for that matter) here is the easy read data…..
Firstly the results of the Race, congratulations to Kathryn Gillie who was first home on the evening with a significantly improved performance over previous races, excellent effort. Kathryn Gillie was followed home by Diane Hankins and Louise Millican who have both continued to improve their race times with both being faster in each race through the competition as have several others in the field. Some great runs throughout the field and young George Bryce being fastest runner on the evening again but Rich Bateson is closing that gap, only 2 seconds slower on the evening.
This leads us to the individual competition and with 1 race remaining, things are very close with a good number of people in with a shout at top honours. Emma Wilson currently leads the way from Louise Millican and Diane Hankins with Emma Carson and Glen Maxwell not too far behind. There are still outside chances for a small few competitors who have only ran 3 races to date and with the largest scoring result being discounted (only 4 races counting) all is to play for for the above in the final race, should be an interesting Finale…… Good luck in the Final race all
Now for the Team competition, well, they have only gone and done it again, despite being in second place to the Tyneside Traitors after the runners scores, the efforts of Gary Taylor on the volunteer rosta have secured yet another first place for The Bimbles. That is 4 first places in the 4 races to date and gives them an insurmountable lead in the team competition, congratulations and well done. Behind the runaway winners, it has actually been quite a close series with Coastline Coasters and Keeping up with the Kids currently leading the chasing pack but will it stay that way and who will finish runners up??. Pride at stake in race 5
Now for what you have been waiting for, STIG related data….
77 of the 88 competitors were within +/- 1 min of the target finish time (38:00) which is a massive 87.5%
50 of the 88 competitors were within +/-30 seconds of the target finish time, circa 57%
Busiest 15 seconds across the line was 38:00 to 38:14 with 22 competitors crossing the line in that period, busy times for the number loggers
So there we have it ladies and gentlemen, a great evenings running and Race 4 is complete. Many thanks to all the volunteers and organisers who make this happen for us
Next up, Race 5 on 01/09 (a Monday evening) the concluding race of the 2025 Summer Cup series and the decider for the individual competition. Same time, same place, be there or be square
