Port of Blyth 10K – Sunday 12th April 2026
The 2026 event has been chosen by NECAA for their 10k road race championship. Blyth Running Club is delighted to be able to host a championship event and you can find more information about NECAA events and qualification standards here:

A 10K chip-timed event held under England Athletics Licence Standards and UK Athletics rules. (Minimum age 16 years on day of Race)
Course measurement certificate xx/xxx. Licence No. #30898.
Athletes compete in individual age categories. For example a Male over 50 will not qualify for over 40 and over 45 category awards.

NECAA Qualifying Conditions
This event is confined to athletes who were born or have continuously resided, for at least nine months prior to the competition, within the counties of Northumberland, Durham, Cleveland, Tyne & Wear or Teesside. The NECAA are operating under UKA Rule 21 S6 as one County and clubs must abide by those rules regarding qualifications and any other matters. Entries are welcome from non NECAA competitors, however, in those events for which heats and finals are held, such competitors may not displace NECAA athletes from any subsequent heat or final.
START & FINISH
On the promenade adjacent to Blyth Battery, NE24 3PQ.
ROUTE
Fast and flat on footpath, promenade and cycle ways from Blyth Quayside to Seaton Sluice and return.
Not suitable for unassisted wheelchairs. No dogs allowed at this event.
CHANGING
No changing facilities. Bags can be stored in the beach huts we have hired, however it’s better to leave this in your car as space is limited.
PARKING
Parking will be at the Blyth Links Car Park, NOT at the Mermaid Car Park. Please follow signs and marshals instructions. Note you will need to allow time to walk from the car park, which is approximately 1 mile from registration/start.
AWARDS
Individual male (1 to 5), female (1 to 5) and vet prizes plus 1st male and female teams. Race memento for all finishers. Bonus prize for new Male and Female course record.

NO HEADPHONES
No headphones will be allowed for your own safety. NON COMPLIANCE will risk disqualification.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Numbers to be collected on the day from the event headquarters at Blyth Blyth Beach Huts.
Race information will be sent out approximately one week before the event.
Note that any deferrals or transfers must be received by March 31st.
