NEMMA T&F Masters League Match 2 Monday 5th June was the second match of six for our Masters (over 35) athletes. The night began with some mega performances in the field events; shot put, triple jump and the high jump with 5 PBs seen from 5 athletes!
Next up was a number of runners in the 1500m with a track debut by Nikki Courtney, some brilliant performances put in by all resulting in another 5 PBs! Track races continued with 100m sprints from a number of our athletes, accumulating in another 3 PBs. Quick recovery as some of our 100m runners also took on the 800m alongside the usual 800m runners. We even had 4 in the same race and by all accounts it was an eventful finish!
After a number of heats the team walked away with 2 PBs. The final race of the night was the 200m. Again a number of athletes lined up after already running and the team finished strong with the final 2 PBs of the night.
What a brilliant evening and excellent team camaraderie. The brilliant events have landed both the Women and the Men’s team in 4th place for the league!
