Training

We meet at various locations on Monday and Wednesday evenings between 18:00 and 19:00  see the training plan for details, and on Sunday mornings some members meet at 9:00 am for the obligatory longer run. Our members cover a wide range of abilities; some are at "the sharp end" of races while others run just for fun or simply to keep fit.

The Monday and Wednesday sessions are mixed ability sessions suitable for everyone - nobody runs on their own, why not give it a try.  You will be placed into a group dependant upon your current ability.  Individual structured training plans are offered to  those who want to plan ahead and ‘peak’ for key races.  

All athletes parking at a venue before training should allow themselves time to warm up before starting the session.

If you intend to stay injury free, please stretch out after your training session.

Please wear high viz or bright clothing for training sessions, especially during dark nights.


The training sessions will continue to be posted on the Heja App, but (for a trial period), it is no longer necessary to book onto the sessions via the app. Most Blyth sessions will have a large group and a smaller group if the number of available coaches available allow.
