Congratulations to this year’s divisional winners, Paul Whalley,
Malcolm Darbyshire, Terry McCabe and Davina Lonsdale
in divisions 1, 2, 3, and 4 respectively.
This was Paul’s fourth successive victory in division 1, but all
depended on the last race at Carlisle, where Paul’s sixth place overall gave
him maximum points in the division on the day for a total of 64, and hence a
1point victory over Robbie in 2nd with Peter Brown a further 2 points adrift in
3rd place.
In division 2, Malcolm was a more convincing winner with 57
points, winning from Steve Gillespie in 2nd by 5 points. Third place was shared by Leanne Herron and
Shaun Dodd, who both had 46 points, although Shaun would have been much closer
to Mal if he had competed in sufficient races.
Terry’s victory in division 3 was also fairly comfortable, with
a 6 and 9 point gap over Graeme Stewart and Dave Bradley in 2nd and 3rd
respectively.
Davina won division 4 by 4 points from Louise Douglas
with Julie Lemin a further 7 points back in 3rd. Julie (like Shaun in division 2), would have
faired much better if she had competed in more races, as she won her division
in each race she ran in, but Mal and Davina have
again proven that by obtaining consistent finish’s in as many of the races as
possible will bring the rewards.
