WINTER SERIES 2015/16 RESULTS RACE 1

Fortunately the persistent rain from earlier in the day had disappeared before the start of race 1 of this season's Winter Series but a strong blustery wind still remained. Given the windy conditions times were mostly down on what was expected with only five runners quicker than anticipated. Most notable of these five was Joanne Stobbart, first away on the handicap system she led from start to finish to win by a margin of almost 2 minutes from second placed Lisa Scorer, with David McGarry just holding off a fast finishing Tony Holland for third. Early leaders in the team competition are "Team Ultra Runner" who with the help of David and Tony in 2nd and 3rd recorded 28pts, with "Aye Up Me Duck" a close second on 43pts. Fastest finisher was Jake Jansen in a time of 13:39, Jude Nutt was fastest lady with 15:45. Many thanks to the two Daves, The Handicapper (Stig) and all the helpers on the night.
