The
second race in this season's five race Winter Series was held on Wednesday 17th
December in unseasonably warm conditions with 56 runners completing the 2.5
mile course. First
back, and running much quicker than expected in his first ever Winter Series,
was Adam Swalwell, who was almost 90 seconds in
front of second placed Brian Singleton (nice to see you back after injury
Brian), with Robbie Barkley another 90 seconds further back in third. Although the first two were way in front
the next 40 all finished within a minute of each other. First
team were "French and Saunterers" with
64pts and in second were the first race winners "R n R" on 73
points. Fastest
finisher was Jon French in a time of 14:02, Leanne Herron was fastest lady
with 16:23. Good to see the return of
2 of our past members in Tony Horsley and Paul Whalley,
welcome back guys. Many
thanks to the two Daves, The Handicapper (Stig) and all the helpers on the night. Next
race Wednesday 7th January. - A request from the organisers, if you are
injured and cannot run please consider coming down to help on the night as
without such help the race would not be able to take place. |
