Forty eight runners completed the final race in this season's
Winter Series, in probably the warmest conditions of all seven races. Simon Sellars (having finished last in
the previous race), stormed to victory by almost a minute from Sam Dodd, with
Aynsley Herron a few seconds further back in third. All three being among the 25 who recorded
season's bests. Phillippa
Edwards, in fifth place, continued her trend of improving in every race. "Alison's Aces" again won the team competition with a
low 33pts (handicapper take note), followed by "MP Free Runners" in
second and "Aye Up Me Duck" in third. Fastest on the night was Lee Cuthbertson
in a time of 13:43, fastest female was Heather Christopher in 16:54. As always many thanks to the two Daves,
the Handicapper (Stig) and all the helpers on the
night. And so
ends the Winter Series, bring on the warmer nights and the Summer Cup. |
