And so
the finale, 49 runners completing the final Winter Series race of the season
on yet another good night for running, considering the bad weather since
Christmas we have been remarkably lucky with the conditions on Winter Series
nights and what a bonus we got to race in the light as well. Winning
by 14 seconds was Lee Simpson, with second placed Alison Lowes a further 10
seconds in front of the very fast finishing James Young in third, all three
recording season's bests. In fact
young James, at only 15 years old, has improved by over 2 minutes since the
first race and was also the fastest finisher on the night in a time of 13:52
- an incredible achievement! Fastest
female on the night was once again Charlie with a time of 15:12. In the
team competition there was a second consecutive win for "R n R"
with 71 points, closely followed by "MPfree
Runners" and "The Broons" both on 89
points but with "MPfree Runners" being
awarded second place as they had the highest placed counter. A total
of eighteen season's best times were recorded on the night. Once again a big thanks to the Dave, The
Handicapper (Stig) and all the helpers on the
night. |
