On a
cool, calm evening 63 runners completed the first race in this seasons Winter
Series, this must surely be a record number, with many attempting the course for
the first time. First back was Joseph Dungworth, 45 seconds in front of Charlie Hedley in
second with James Young third a further 10 seconds adrift. First
team on the night was "Hot Tottie", with
their four counters being in 3rd, 9th, 11th and 21st positions, to give a low
team score of 44 points, closely followed by "Ay Up Me Duck" with
54. Jake
Jansen was the fastest finisher with 13:44, Charlie Hedley was fastest lady
with 15:45. It was encouraging to see
some of the newer club members and a host of juniors taking part and enjoying
the race. Many thanks to the two Daves, The Handicapper (Stig)
and all the helpers on the night. |
