For the
second successive race 49 runners turned out for the next instalment of the
Winter Series, with half the field making good use of the clement conditions to
run season's best times. First
back was Phillippa Baxter with a time of 16:55,
almost a minute quicker than her previous best time and in the process
recording the fastest time by anyone from the Baxter household this series
(sorry Ian). Second and thirs places went to Margaret Povey
and Calum Storey respectively, with both knocking
45 sec off previous bests. After
four races, Phillippa now leads the overall race
for the title with 33pts, just 1pt in front of Joseph Dungworth
in second, who is a further 6pts ahead of previous leader Heather Barrass. For the
third time in the four races the "Broons"
were again winners in the team competition, followed by "Colin's
Crew" and "RnR". The "Broons"
now lead the team event with 95pts, some 37pts in front of "RnR", with "Andrea And Her Boys" a further
10pts back in third. Come on the other
teams, lets give the "Broons"
some competition. Fastest
finisher on the night was Gary Jones with 13:12 and Heather Christopher was
again fastest lady in a time of 16:34.
