Only 36
runners turned out for the second race in the seasons Winter Series, probably
not surprising after the recent bad weather and too much food over Christmas! The
race was run on a modified course due to the loop at the top end route being
very icy and poorly lit, instead a loop was added around the start and the
turn round point was just before the Welwyn factory. Unfortunately, the course was slightly
shorter than the standard 2.5 mile, being measured by various GPS devices at
around 2.40 - 2.43 mile, meaning that some peoples "pb's"
probably weren't. First
back was Ken Turnbull, only 2 seconds in front of fast finishing Mattie
Jackson, with Dave Roberts 30 seconds further back in third. First team was Colins
Crew, followed closely by The Bradley Bunch and R n R. Fastest
finisher on the night was Jake Jansen with 13:50 and fastest lady in 16:08
was Heather Christopher. Once again many
thanks to Keith, Dave, The Handicapper (Stig) and all the helpers on the night. |
