After a break of seven weeks the Summer Cup returned on
Wednesday 25th July with race 3 of the 6 race series. Some runners seemed to enjoy the hot, humid
conditions with 21 new season's best performances being recorded, but others
certainly did not! First back and improving by 90 seconds was Ralph Dickinson,
passing Angela Johnson in the last few metres to record a 1 second
victory. In third place, 11 seconds
further back was Jane Cassells, running over a
minute faster than last time out. As we reach the half way point of the series it is close at the
top, with Michael Nolan leading the way on 33 points followed by Mark Ponton on 34 and Daniel N'Jai
on 35. "Shaun the Sheep", (without Shaun), were the victors
in the team race, with "R n R" continuing their impressive start to
the series with another second place , this gives "R n R" the lead
in the team competition with 65 points, 24 points ahead of " Shaun the
Sheep" in second. Fastest male Jake Jansen in 13:36, which is also the fastest
time recorded this year so far, and fastest female Leanne Herron with 15:21,
just 9 seconds outside her own female course record of 15:12 set last
year. Thanks from the organisers to all the marshals, timekeepers and
