Weetslade Relays 2015

Blyth enjoyed a super evening of  relay running (despite the damp conditions) at  Weetslade Relays held at Lockey Park, Wideopen on Wednesday 24th June.

A record turnout of 97 teams -this unique relay race had to include a lady and veteran in a team of 3. The lady and vet could be the same person.

The 2.5mile multi-terrain scenic course included 1 full lap around Weetslade Country Park, with a steep hill halfway-climbing up to wonderful views across Northumberland. 

Blyth entered 7 great teams and the first team back finished in 14th place with Sam Dodd recording fastest Blyth time of 14.04 and Leanne Herron fastest Blyth lady in 17.04.

Team C:43rd- C.Storey:15.49;C.Calverley:17.53;D.Roberts:17.10

Team G:74th- G.Frazer:18.55;S.Browning:19.02;P.Knight:17.45 

Team E: 90th- K.Freeman: 19.41;H.Morris:19.28;A.Brabazon:20.43

Team F: 94th- R.Dickinson:19.32;E.Johnson:22.08;L.Davies:21.29

The winning Team was Elswick Harriers.

Fastest Male: Andy Burn, J&H- 12.39

Fastest Female: Emma Holt, Morpeth- 14.52

Fastest Male Vet:  Paul Turner, Elswick- 13.37

Fastest Female Vet:Justina Heslop, Elswick-13.41
