Sherman Cup / Davison Shield (BRC XC Comp Race 2)

The Sherman Cup \ Davison Shield annual cross country event took place on Saturday 25th October 2014 at Bedewell Park in South Shields in dry, but as seems to be typical for Bedewell, windy conditions. 13 male seniors took part as did 8 of our ladies – an excellent turn-out in comparison to previous XC’s. This event also was the 2nd eligible XC fixture in the BRC cross country competition and as a ‘mass start’ event was subject to handicapping for those in the NEHL medium and fast packs.

Despite a handicap of over 2 minutes Brad Clough finished as fastest BRC male on the day, none of the ladies were subject to a handicap and Heather Christopher finished the fastest lady. There were also some terrific performances from the rest of the BRC contingent many of whom are either new to the club or new to cross country.

Updated league positions can be found below. Remember the more runners taking part the higher the points awarded, also +3 bonus points for every fixture completed. Next fixture is the NEHL at Aykley Heads, Durham on Saturday 22nd November 2014.
