Scottish Outdoor
T&F Champs
[Su 15th Jun]
I competed in the
Scottish outdoor championships for the third time yesterday at Pitreavie AC, Dunfermline.
Against what looked on
paper to be very difficult competition and with the added difficulty of trying
to run at 9:30am I managed to come away with silver in the 100m in a time of
12.26s and an unexpected bronze and seasons best in the 200m with a time of
25.1s. The standard is definitely getting better every year with some of
the best masters athletes in European and world athletics taking the time to
race at these competitions so every podium finish is a bonus.
There were also
excellent runs by other north east based athletes as Norman De Bruin was
excellent in the V50 800m where he won gold in a time of 2:13:78 and Richard
Baker, also of the NSP picked up a bronze in the M35 800m with a time of
2:22:38
