Northumberland Schools recently held their annual Cross Country trials at Temple Park, South Shields, where the competitors were racing to finish in the first 16 of each race in order to be selected to run for Northumberland Schools at the Inter Counties event at Kirkby Stephen in February. A number of Blyth's Juniors took part in the event and qualifying to run for Northumberland were Scotty Povey, 4th in the senior boys, Charlie Hedley, 9th in the junior girls and Laura Robson, 11th in the minor girls Charlotte Ramsey finished 20th in the Intermediate girls race and is a reserve.
