Newburn River Run

This one always seems well attended, organised by Elswick Harriers and at a distance of approximately 6.5
miles over the same course as previous years.

It was obvious to see that Wallsend and Alnwick had this one in their Grand Prix with an excellent
turnout by both. For
The course follows the river banks on both sides
near Newburn, starting and finishing at the leisure
centre. Good facilities of a bar,
showers and a sandwich are offered at the end.
The prizes are quite generous although it is disappointing to see Elswick adopting the same system as some other clubs in
offering complete sets of male prizes to all age categories but a limited
number to the ladies.
However, well done to Susanne in winning the over 45
ladies section and to Jon for being first

Marathon it was always going to be “interesting”.
