[Wed 5th Jan]
Only a week after the previous race in the series,
46 runners turned out for the third race in this seasons Winter Series. Using the new course from race 2, but extended
at the start to make the route the standard 2.5 mile, a show of hands at the
end indicated that this route was preferred over the one used for previous
seasons and is to be used again at the next race.
First back was Richard Shillinglaw,
showing a tremendous sprint finish to stay in front of the fast finishing Steve
Walker and Terry Hart in 2nd and 3rd respectively. Ken Turnbull and Phillippa
Baxter are currently tied for first place in the individual competition after
the three events, with Dave Roberts 4 points behind in third. First team on the night was yet again
"Colin's Crew", who now have more than a 100 point lead over second
placed "R n R", thanks to their two firsts and one second place in
the three races so far (all without the help of team captain Colin!).
Fastest finisher on the night was Sam Dodd with
14:39 and fastest lady in 17:35 was Helen Morris, it is quite noticeable that
the recent bad weather and Christmas period has had a detrimental effect on
most runners times. Once again many thanks to Keith, Dave, The Handicapper (Stig) and all the helpers on the night.
