Sand Dancer
Multi-Terrain 10k
[Sun 10th Apr]
The summer arrived on the morning of Sunday the 10th
of April and I went to South Shields for the Sand Dancer 10K. It had a grand turnout of 213 runners. This was a two lap course starting from
Gypsy's Green stadium (South Shields Harriers and the Race HQ) also known to
many as the meeting point at the end of the Great North Run. The route takes you along the coast before
heading back inland and almost back to the stadium before one more lap out and
back again, and then a 400 metre effort to finish, yes a full lap of the
stadium track. Then my favourite part of
any race, off to the pub for soup and roll in the Sand Dancer pub and of course
a pint!!!. For the record I was the
first Blyth Runner in a time of 43.31.
