North Tyneside 10k
[Sun 24th Apr]
Easter Sunday saw the 7th running of the
increasingly popular North Tyneside 10k Road Race, starting from the Parks
Leisure Centre in North Shields, then following the Tyne and the coast before
finishing near St Mary's Lighthouse.
This year the race saw the 1680 finishers running in hot, sultry
conditions with a strong headwind most of the way. The conditions didn't appear to affect Morpeth's Serod Batochir, whose time of 30:20 smashed the course record by
over a minute and Rosie Smith of Durham City who knocked 19 seconds off the
female record with her time of 35:40.
First back for Blyth and 3rd F35 was Julie Clark
with a time of 41:55, also in the prizes was Sheila Greener, 3rd F60 with
53:39. Blyth runners listed below, full
results can be found on the North Tyneside council web site.
