East Northumberland
Schools X-C
[Tue 6th Dec]
East Northumberland Schools recently held their
annual Cross Country trials at Woodhorn Colliery, the
first 16 in each race would then represent East North at the County
Championships in January.
Several members of Blyth were running and in the
Minor Girls race Lauren Robson and Alice Gittens
easily qualified as they finished 4th and 6th respectively. In the Juniors boys
race, Lewis Jansen ran a steady race to qualify in 10th position with Harry McCabe
also qualifying in 15th. In the Junior girls race, Charlie Hedley controlled
the race and easily qualified by winning with Lois Kankowski
finishing in third place, while Erin Scott struggled as she was competing
against girls a year older then her and will benefit from the experience. In the Inter boys race, Mattie Jackson just
ran his usual race to finish in fourth place, just in front of Michael Scott ,
who finished just in front of Joseph Woods with Chris Sheffer
one place back. We think Mark Nicholson also qualified but is not in the
official results. For the Inter Girls,
Charlotte was quite happy just to jog around and finish in second position.
