[Mon 1st Mar 2010] A fleet of cars and a coach left
Blyth early on Sunday morning as the runners and their supporters took the long
drive to Pocklington, approximately 10 miles East of York, for the Snake Lane
10, the first Grand Prix race of the 2010 season. A total of 32 Blyth members ran in the event,
almost 5% of the 666 total, including a number of new members; Heather
Christopher, Claire Riches, Ian Baxter and Carol Watt who were all racing for
the first time, and will hopefully be back for more.
The
bad weather forecasted for the day never materialised and although there was a
strong cool headwind for the first few miles of the windy course along the
rural lanes around Pocklington, it thankfully remained dry.
