Autumn Relays 1997

The eleventh running of the Top House Autumn Relays was held on Monday the 1st of December, at the Kitty Brewster Industrial Estate. Included in this year's teams were Steve Gillespie, maintaining his 100% record for the event, and George Young, who has only missed one of them. Ten teams lined up at the start line, as against 12 from last year (although two teams were incomplete).

In first place, in a time of 42:09, and coming from 7th place after the first leg, was team F. The team members were: Jonathan Dickinson, Mark Walbank and George Young. In second place were team H; Ron Ingram, John Miller and Rob Hall. Third home were team I; Steve Bangs, Steve Walker and Neal Hedley. Fastest overall was Dave McKenzie (12:30); this is the second time in a row (he didn't run last year) that Dave has been quickest on the night.

Ron would like to thank people for their help with the marshalling and timekeeping. Without their help the event could not go ahead. Unfortunately I was away on the night, so I don't know who helped, but you all know who you are.
