Relays - Wed 17th Oct 2018
The thirty second running of
the Top House Autumn Relays was held on Wednesday the 17th of October 2018. A cool, calm perfect evening for running
welcomed the 56 runners taking part in the event.
Congratulations go to the
winning team of Yvonne Clelland, Steven French and Jon
French (Team B) in a total time of 47:03, with team D (Lynne Bate, Steve Gillespie
and Ian Baxter) in second place, almost 3 minutes adrift. Seventeen of the 18 complete teams
finished in a time span of just over 4 minutes. It was also good to see a few of the
older juniors participating for the first time. It’s amazing how being part of a
team is an incentive for people to try that little bit harder with 47 of the 56
runners being quicker than expected.
Josh Fiddaman
was fastest on the night with 11:57, which places him third fastest of all time
with only the legend that is Andy Brown in front of Josh in the list, Jon
French was fastest male vet with 13:18.
Rachelle (unfortunately in an incomplete team) was the quickest female
with a time of 13:57 and Sandra Watson fastest female vet in 16:50.
With 18 runners taking part in
the Autumn Relays for the first time this gives a total of 365 different
competitors over the years, with the ever reliable Steve Gillespie continuing
with his incredible record of having completed all 32.
Thanks to Kevin, Liz, Dave, Andi Capper and all their marshals/helpers for ensuring the event continues to run as smoothly as ever.
