Blyth Sportshall Competition

5 Mar 17

The first ever Blyth Sportshall Athletics Series concluded on Saturday 25th Feb with 43 young athletes taking part in 5 events each. It was fantastic to see athletes from Scotland as well as a large team from Chester-le-Street AC taking the challenge to more local athletes from Blyth Running Club and Wallsend Harriers amongst others.

After an exciting morning of running, jumping and throwing, 'Star Athletes' in each age group were presented with trophies for scoring the highest number of points across both events in the series. To be honest though, every single athlete who took part across the series was a star, and we look forward to welcoming them all back when the series returns next winter.  A special mention to the four Blyth Juniors who won namely; Maya Turner (Yr4 girl), Joshua Martin (Yr6 boy), Amelia Fairhurst (Yr7 girl) and Will Browning (Yr8 boy).
