Summer Cup Report 2015

Congratulations to Gwen Forster, the overall individual winner of the 2015 Summer Cup, Gwen ran in 4 of the 5 races and finished in the top ten in each race, improving her time in each race from 20:07 in race 1 to 17:43 in race 5. In second place was Lesley Falkous on 45 pts, more than double Gwen's 21. Like Gwen, Lesley also improved her time in every race. Just 4 pts behind in third was Jake Masterman who recorded the joint fastest time of the series in the final race with 13:37, which equalled Sam Dodd's time from race 1.

With Gwen and Lesley filling the top two positions in the individual competition it probably comes as no surprise that their team, "The Chocolate Monsters" comfortably won the team competition, winning 4 of the 5 races to finish on 110 points, the other team members being Andrea Wilson, Lisa Scorer, Gemma Harmon and Craig Harmon. Second and third places in the team competition was taken by "Hot Tottie" and "R n R" on 68 and 56 pts respectively.

As mentioned earlier Sam and Jake recorded the fastest times of the series with Jude Nutt recording 15:30 in race 5 to set the fastest time by a female.

Many thanks to the organisers, marshals, timekeepers and helpers without whose time and effort the event couldn't take place.
