Club Handicap 2015

[Mon 27th Apr]

Blyth Running Club held their annual handicap race on Wednesday 22nd April on the usual 6.5-mile course from Blyth beach car park, south along the dunes path towards Seaton Sluice, up Collywell Bay Road, past the Delaval Arms pub, then back along the cliff tops and back to Blyth.

First of the 34 runners set away by starter Dave Kitching was Jane Cassells.  Some 30 minutes later, the last runner, Sam Dodds, was set off.  However, nobody could catch Jane as she led from start to finish to win the race by over 20 seconds from second placed Lisa Scorer, with Gemma Harmon in third place.

The first eight finishers were all ladies, with Judith Nutt finishing in seventh position as she set the fastest time by a lady, and although starting last Sam Dodd set the fastest time on the night.
