Summer Cup 2012

Congratulations to Jon French, the overall winner of the 2012 Summer Cup with a total score of 31 pts from the 5th, 7th, 11th and 8th placed finishes attained in the 4 races he competed in.  Long time leader Mark Ponton finished 7th in the last race to obtain 2nd place overall, just 1 point behind, with 32 pts.  Third place went to Richard Shillinglaw, only another 4 pts adrift with a total of 36.

The team event saw a win for "R n R", which consisted of Ron Ingram, Davina Lonsdale, Richard Shillinglaw, Ian Baxter, Heather Christopher and Steve Gillespie.  The team achieved 1 win, 2 seconds, 2 thirds and 1 fourth place finishes for a total of 107 pts.  In second place, on 87 pts, were "French and Saunterers", who came on a late charge with wins in the last two races, and in third with 77 pts were "Charlies Angels".

Many thanks to the organisers, marshals, timekeepers and helpers without whose time and effort the event couldn't take place.
