North East Pentathlon & 5k/10k Championships

Both myself and Daniel N'Jai competed in the Pentathlon for the first time on the 8th of September.

Daniel managed to come third in the senior competition with 1514 points and the following sequence:

Discus – 16.12m

Long Jump – 4.74m

200m – 27.9s

Javelin – 21.54m

800m – 2m35.8s

I managed to win the V40 pentathlon but hard to say where I’d have finished overall because there are different points schemes for all of the vets age groups.  I ended up with 2153 points and a sequence of:

Discus – 16.15m

Long Jump – 4.65m

200m – 25.1s

Javelin – 31.84m (club record!)

800m – 2m40.4s

In the women's 5k event Heather Christopher was the first V40 across the line in 20m28.4s, a new PB! Helen Morris was the second V45 to finish in a time of 21m47.2s, a seasons best. Finally Diane Wallace was second V60 back in a time of 26m02.2s

Kevin Freeman went in a fast 10k race (winner clocking 37min) and came away with a seasons best 47m47.3s
