Weekend Update 4-Oct-11

The first weekend in October saw Blyth members representing the club at various locations in the North of England and Scotland.

On Saturday the 1st, Angie Brown and Sue Walker took part in the Coniston Trail Challenge (a hilly 14k trail race), in the Lake District, finishing in 1:35:46 and 1:53:54 respectively.

On Sunday, we had members competing in the Great Cumbrian Half at Carlisle, The Baxter's Loch Ness Marathon and the BUPA Great Edinburgh Run 10k in Scotland.  Performance of the day goes to Peter Brown at Loch Ness, where he finally achieved his target of breaking 3 hrs for the marathon, finishing in 16th place overall with a time of 2:54:05 - Well Done Peter.  Also,in Scotland, Peter Holmback finished in 40:44 at the very wet Edinburgh 10k.

Cath Young (1:44:43), Julie Lemin (1:53:41), Ralph Dickenson (1:54:52) and Davina Lonsdale (1:57:15) all took part in the Cumbrian Half, with Julie and Davina using it as a warm up for next Sunday's Keilder Marathon - Good Luck girls.
