Well Done Trish!

 [Thu 29th Sep 2011]

This years Great North Run was the 31st and one member from Blyth successfully finished the race for the 25th consecutive year. Blyth Running Club Chairman, Kevin Freeman recently presented Trish Goodwin with a bouquet of flower, a GNR rain jacket and a book entitled “The Great North Run; The first 25 Years”. Trish is the first Blyth member to hit this milestone and Kevin compared Trish to “David Walliams and Ian Botham in this feat of endurance”. Trish joined the Club in 1985 (in actual fact only Dave Cox, Dave Kitching and Rob Hall have been members longer than Trish).  As well as the 25 GNR’s, Trish has also completed the London Marathon on several memorable occasions as well as many club and local races.
