NE Vets Track Championships

The North East vets 5k track championships took place on September 10th at Monkton stadium, Jarrow.

A very warm and windy day - Heather Christopher and Helen Morris lined up for the 5k track race alongside athletes from Tyndale, Elswick. Darlington and Heaton Harriers, twelve and half laps of the track - (think of 5,000m world champion mo farah!!). Heather's first track 5k - hence a pb.21:37.2, she finished 4th and 2nd over 40, closely followed by Helen, 5th in 21:57.6 and 3rd over 45.

The race was won by Yam Thiru of Elswick harriers in 19:43.
