A Win for Terry

Congratulations to our own Terry McCabe. Terry has just won the overall North Shields Poly race series.

The series consists of our own 10 km race plus six shorter races of 3.5 miles and one final race of 5.2 miles. The races are all based on a handicap system similar to our own.

This year saw an entry of twenty three teams of eight runners. Terry came in 10th, 15th and 16th on three occasions on his way to victory. He improved his times on the shorter races in five of the six occasions.

This is the second time a Blyth Athlete has won the series, last time was Mrs Elizabeth Freeman in the 1999/2000 series. Richard Shillinglaw came runner up in our more recent history!

One of our teams, “The Meerkats” came in third place in the team event this year.
