Blyth Sands Race

The 58th running of the Blyth Sands Race on Sunday 3rd December was held in sunny, fairly calm conditions, which helped to attract a field of 176 runners, the largest entry this century.

Port of Blyth 10K

Our annual 10K road race, now renamed the Port of Blyth will take place on Sunday April 8th 2018, full details to follow.

New Club Records

Two new club records were achieved at the first Gateshead indoor meeting of the season on Thursday 16th Nov, congrats to Ellie Morris and Jakob Nailen achieving 1.6m and 7.24 sec in the high jump and 60m respectively.  All records can be found via the Club Honours page or directly by clicking HERE.

Brampton to Carlisle 10M

Going into the final race of the season, the winners of divisions 3, 4, 5 and 6 were already decided, but there were still other podium places up for grabs.  Brampton results and report together with final GP standings can be found on the GP RESULTS and GP TABLES pages respectively.

Great Cumbrian half

Race 11 of the Grand Prix season and 15 of our runners headed to Carlisle hoping that the forecast for lots of rain might be mistaken.  The weather all along the A69 did nothing for our hopes and it was still raining as everyone assembled for the start.  However, the running gods were on our side and the rain stopped just before the start....

Haltwhistle Half

Congratulations to our club secretary Ralph Dickinson for winning the men's over-65 category at the Haltwhistle Half Marathon on Sunday September 24th. Ralph does a tremendous amount of work for the club behind the scenes, and has done so for many years now, so it's great to see that he still hasn't lost his running bug.

A strength and conditioning session is held at Bede Academy on a Thursday evening from 7 to 8 pm.  There is a small charge of £1 to cover the cost of hiring the hall.  All welcome.

Blyth High Jump Academy meet every Thursday at 6pm at Bede Academy. The session is for boys and girls in school years 5 and above looking to develop as athletes with the aim of succeeding in competitions. The cost of sessions is £2

The beginners group, organised by Lesley and Michelle, meet at 7:00 pm every Monday (except Bank holidays) at Blyth Quayside and is open to all abilities.
